Australia has had a feral cat problem since they were introduced to the food chain in the 19th century. Natural hunters, they've chowed down to a buffet of native wildlife like
bandicoots,
burrowing bettongs,
musky rat kangaroos and other small critters.
My solution?
Leave heaping bowls of cat food on the back patio. Fatten 'em up so they'll leave their living vittles alone (I know how easily refutable this is biologically -- but I'm a soft touch). Here's 4 of the cats we see every day, out of I think a half dozen.
