Parrots a'feasting.

Aradhna and I came upon a wattle tree bustling with parrots while running errands to former Sydney-area haunts this morning. We don't see many exotic Aussie creatures in our part of Melbourne -- besides creatively plummaged Melburnians -- and months of wet weather have turned New South Wales calming shades of green.

Parrots are a common sight in Sydney. In fact, they amass in trees by the hundreds at dusk, blaring like rainbow armies of car alarms. These half-dozen were too busy foraging for wattle seeds to shriek.
