Aussie airheads.

Today's Age reported that Australian TV game shows, which make up at least half of all original Aussie TV programming, are getting dumber.

This afternoon, doing laundry at my usual place, I noticed a woman in her 20s carefully separating her clothes into two dryers. Her henna-colored hair was in a tight ponytail and her singlet was tight and read something like 'Babydoll' or 'Princess' in glittery letters. My friend Karun, who works there part-time while studying IT at one of Melbourne's many universities, would call her a 'blondie'. The woman was on the verge of dumping a scoop of detergent into one of the dryers when Karun rushed over and told her a dryer was used to dry clothes, not wash them.

Little wonder game show makers have had to drop their standards ......
