The French culture gendarmerie have abolished the worldwide term 'email'. Like it or not, if you're lucky enough to be at a Parisian cafe with your laptop and a breathtaking French man or woman asks "Qu'est-ce que tu fais?", you'll answer "Checking my courriel."
