The Outfield to The Replacements

Years ago I tossed a huge box of Rolling Stone & Spin magazines into the trash (though I may have saved Spin's inaugural issue with Talking Heads on the cover). Most were accumulated during the 1980s, a much-maligned decade among music intelligentsia. I recalled that junked collection of mags while listening to this week's All Songs Considered podcast entitled 'The 1980s: Were they really that bad?' Definitely worth a listen if synthesizers make your skin crawl.
