Farm fashion

Next time I catch myself whinging about a broken printer or burnt coffee or some other minor office inconvenience I'll close my eyes and picture these two muddy feet and re-evaluate my state of discomfort.

Le Cafe packed with pale skin this afternoon. Two days of rain and wind has driven resort-goers from their cozy roosts and into the wilds of Sigatoka town. I may look like them, and no doubt the locals view me as one of them, but I don't feel like them.

He said, tap-tap-tapping on a laptop, listening to Arctic Monkeys on iTunes, sipping a cappacinno ...

Leaving the farm tomorrow. Formulated a 'working' travel plan last night but can't confirm much -- sort of winging it. Will head east and hope to visit families in Nasinu and Nausori before driving north to Rakiraki. The ride along Kings Road includes a 56km stretch of unpaved track through what my Lonely Planet guide describes as 'untouched landscape'. Will snorkel around Nananu-I-Ra and then head west to Lautoka before returning to Nadi on 19 Sept and flying to Sydney the following morning.

Who knows if I'll be able to post again, so here's a bunch of photos ...
Brownie waits patiently during a walk yesterday morning.

Sindhu mama plowing before sunset.

Kitty rests on a bed of dried beans.

Makers of cream buns to die for ... just ask Aradhna.
