Ba-bye Beijing.

China's desire to propagandize in English during the Olympics was almost admirable -- and very entertaining. As we celebrate the conclusion of Fourteen Days of Joyless Message Control, let's marvel at just a few snippets of clumsy Chinese gov't hyperbole:

• Everybody is happy. That is a fact.
  
• ... the Olympic moments that touch your heart and purify your soul belong to those who are fighting destiny, triumphing over adversity, or proving to the world that love can be as deep as ocean.
  
• Beijing has made the Olympics more genuinely global in nature.
  
• Thirty years after China's reform and opening up to the outside world, the Chinese have merged into the world by hosting the Games with all their heart, cheering for all the players, sharing their laughters and tears and idolising the world's common heroes.
  
• Beijing brings happiness to the world.
